The following outlines the status of AgriTec’s patents and patents pending.

U.S. Patent 5,833,940
“Production of Soluble Silicates From Biogenetic Silica” 
Issued November 10, 1998.
This patent provides a method for producing a clear soluble silicate solution by dissolving biogenic silica in a strong alkali solution such as sodium hydroxide, at low temperature and pressure.  Commercialization is underway at the AgriTecSorbents, LLC plant in Arkansas.
U.S. Patent 5,858,911
“Method of Producing Activated Carbon” 
Issued January 12, 1999
The is a method patent for producing activated carbon comprising separating it by filtration from a caustic silicate solution produced from caustic digestion of rice hull ash.  Commercialization is underway at the AgriTecSorbents, LLC plant in Arkansas.
U.S. Patent 6,114,280
“Highly Activated Carbon from Caustic Digestion of Rice Hull Ash and Method”
Issued September 5, 2000
This is a method and product patent.  This technology provides a method for producing commercial grade activated carbon products from the caustic digestion of rice hull ash.  Commercialization is underway at the AgriTecSorbents, LLC plant in Arkansas.
U.S. Patent 6,524,543
“Production of Soluble Silicates from Biogenic Silica”
Issued February 25, 2003
This is a product patent for the clear silicate solution produced by the method of Patent 5,833,940 above.  Commercialization is underway at the AgriTecSorbents, LLC plant in Arkansas.
U.S. Patent 6,375,735
“Precipitated Silicas, Silica Gels With and Free of Deposited Carbon From Caustic Biomass Ash Solutions and Processes”
Issued April 23, 2003
This is a method patent which relates to precipitated silicas or silica gels, wherein each silica type has adhered or deposited activated carbon or is free of carbon, from a caustic biomass ash solution.  This technology is being commercialized at the first plants in Thailand.
U.S. Patent 6,638,354
“Precipitated Silicas, Silica Gels With and Free of Deposited Carbon From Caustic Biomass Ash Solutions and Processes”
Issued October 28, 2003
This is a product patent relating to the foregoing method patent 6,375,735.  The product claims are for a reaction product precipitate of amorphous pyrolized biomass silica or silica gel wherein each silica type has adhered or deposited amorphous carbon or is free of carbon.  As stated above, this technology is being commercialized at the first plants in Thailand.
Foreign patent applications for “Highly Activated Carbon” (U.S. 6,524,543) and “Precipitated Silicas” (U.S. 6,375,735) have been filed in various countries in Asia, Europe, North America and South America.
